-Shoghi Effendi, Unfolding Destiny
“Life is a constant struggle, not only against forces around us, but above all against our own ego. We can never afford to rest on our own oars, for if we do, we soon see ourselves carried down stream again. Many of those who drift away from the Cause do so for the reason that they had ceased to go on developing. They became complacent or indifferent, and consequently ceased to draw the spiritual strength and vitality from the Cause which they should have. Sometimes, of course, people fail because of a test they just do not meet, and often our severest tests come from each other. Certainly the believer should try to avert such things, and if they happen, remedy them through love. Generally speaking nine-tenths of the friends’ troubles are because they don’t do the Bahá’í thing, in relation to each other, to the administrative bodies or in their personal lives.”

From the Universal House of Justice, letter dated July 10th 2014 (first and last paragraphs): "The setting of the sun on 20 March 2015 will signalize the end of the year 171, the close of the ninth Váḥid of the first Kull-i-Shay’ of the Bahá’í Era. We call upon the Bahá’ís of the East and West to adopt, on that auspicious occasion, the provisions that will unite them in the common implementation of the Badí‘ calendar... "The adoption of a new calendar in each dispensation is a symbol of the power of Divine Revelation to reshape human perception of material, social, and spiritual reality. Through it, sacred moments are distinguished, humanity’s place in time and space reimagined, and the rhythm of life recast. Next Naw-Rúz will mark yet another historic step in the manifestation of the unity of the people of Bahá and the unfoldment of Bahá’u’lláh’s World Order." The full letter can be read HERE. Points summarized from HERE.
And so on reading this letter with my husband, we pondered the question. So... how will it change our every day lives? How do we more effectively adopt the implementation of the Badi calendar? Some thoughts below.

Welcome! This is a place that I have been compiling resources as I develop/find them - as a a children's class teacher, as a parent as an individual who loves to study the history and teachings of the Baha'i Faith. Postings and opportunities are erratic as a working mother of two, but it is something that brings me great joy! Archives
